FAQ's

Which kit should I choose?

For most people starting with essential oils, I recommend the Home Essentials kit ($300) to start with. It’s a great deal with 15 mL bottles of 10 of the most commonly used oils, so you can get started straight away using your oils aromatically! You can add add ons, for example a diffuser. This plays a huge part in how you use oils on a daily basis to support energy, immunity and stress relief, sleep and more.

The Essential Collections Kit ($185) is another good option if you have a smaller budget with 5ml bottles of the same 10 oils plus a 30ml Fractionated Coconut Oil. It also has the option to add extra products on like a diffuser.

The Home Essentials Kit is much better value for money (saving $100).

The Natures Solution’s Kit is by far the best option for those wanting to build a doTERRA business (although not necessary, I started with a smaller kit). It’s not a big outlay when you consider the cost of setting up your usual ‘bricks & mortar’ business, especially considering the earnings potential.

If I get a membership to purchase oils at wholesale prices, does that mean I have to sell doTERRA?

No! You always have the option to make a commission and residual income, but you absolutely do not have to. You use your membership simply for the benefit of the 25% discount.

How much does is the membership?

The cost is $35 the first year. If you purchase one of doTERRA’s enrolment kits when you sign up, the $35 fee is included in the price of your kit. Renewal of your membership costs $25 after the first year, but you get a free bottle of peppermint when you renew, which is worth $25.50 wholesale - 'win win' I say!  

What is an enrolment kit?

An enrollment kit is a collection of products that doTERRA has put together, so that you can try some of their best-selling oils without having to guess at which ones you need. Purchasing one of these kits already includes the $35 enrolment fee.

Do I have to purchase a kit?

Nope. You can pick and choose what you want, instead of a kit, if you prefer. By doing it this way, you are charged the $35 fee in addition to the products that you’ve added to your cart.

Do I have to place an order every month?

No! You can order as little or as much as you like, when you like.

There is an optional Loyalty Rewards Program (I call it the FREE OIL CLUB) you can join where you collect points for each order that can be redeemed for free product. You can also earn a free oil every month. This program is entirely optional (although this is the smartest way to get your oils if you’re wanting to build your collection)

Where can I get Resources from - books, roller bottles etc

There is no point investing in essential oils if you are not willing to invest in resources to be able to use them.

Purchase books from The Natural Good Life ie the latest edition of the Modern Essentials book and the Emotions and Essential Oils book are two of my favourite resources. There are also books for pets, pregnancy, cleaning etc. You will also be able to purchase roller bottles, sample vials etc from the same site.

I like to get most of my glass supplies from Vitalia e.g. 10ml roller bottles, 100ml + 30ml spray bottles, salve containers etc

How to use the oils

GENERAL guideline for dilution is 1 drop eo to 15 ml (tablespoon) carrier oil for infants. 1 drop to 5 ml for children and 1 drop to 2 ml for adults. Again this is a general guideline for those brand new to oils and particularly for more caustic oils like Oregano, Digestzen, Peppermint, On Guard etc. As you get to know the oils more and make perfume blends etc this will change depending on sensitivity and oils used eg Lavender and Frankincense are generally much more gentle on the skin so you may not require such a heavy dilution. Please do not get so hung up or obsessed about exact amounts and get to know your oils.
